Inglewood Hill Road Improvements Project Wins ASCE LOCEA Award

On Wednesday, June 13, ASCE Seattle presented Osborn Consulting, Inc. (OCI) and the City of Sammamish with a Local Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement award. The award was for the recently constructed NE Inglewood Hill Road Stormwater Retrofit and Non-Motorized Improvements Project, located on NE Inglewood Hill Rd in the City of Sammamish. OCI led the design of the bike lane, sidewalk, and stormwater retrofit for this project to resolve the existing drainage problems and complete the missing link in multi-modal corridor improvements connecting downtown Sammamish to Lake Sammamish.

Laura Ruppert, OCI’s Project Manager for the NE Inglewood Hill Road Project, presented at the ASCE Seattle Section award ceremony with Tawni Dalziel, City of Sammamish Senior Stormwater Program Manager. They showcased the unique features of the project, including the challenge of designing bike and pedestrian improvements, drainage conveyance, and water quality treatment along the steep and winding roadway. You can read more about this project and view photos of the constructed roadway by clicking here.

Congratulations to the City of Sammamish for the successful completion and celebration of the NE Inglewood Hill Road Project! The consultant team that delivered the project also includes Aspect Consulting, HWA GeoSciences, Marshbank Construction, Perteet, The Watershed Company, and Watson Asphalt Paving Company.

We are honored by this award and appreciate the ASCE Seattle Section recognizing the important civil engineering projects in our region. More information about this award program can be found on their website.
